Venezuela’s zoo animals are starving, and a one-time actor wants to airlift them out


“The lion is dying. And what we’re asking for is that we be allowed to provide help that has no political strings attached.”

Raul Julia-Levy, the son of the late actor Raul Julia, is an animal rights activist shrouded in controversy who is lobbying the Venezuelan government to evacuate emaciated and starving zoo animals. He wants to airlift them to parks and reserves in other countries including the United States.
