State Attorney Ayala: No more bail for minor offenses

The new policy would let suspects of minor nonviolent offenses like possession of cannabis or driving with a suspended license to be released on their own recognizance while awaiting trial, rather than forcing them to stay in jail because they can't afford bond:

Prosecutors in Orange and Osceola counties will no longer request bail be set for people charged with minor offenses.
