Raúl Castro expected to leave office earlier than originally planned

As the change takes place, U.S.-Cuba relations in some ways seem to have returned to the deep freeze of the Cold War era.

On Thursday, Raúl Castro is expected to retire from the Cuban presidency and hand the reins of power to a non-Castro for the first time in more than 40 years. The transition comes when colder winds are blowing from the Trump White House.
