Key West is struggling to balance a budget. It is starting by cutting out nonprofits

The Southernmost City says can’t afford to cut the Boys and Girls Club a check. Or the Rotary for July 4 fireworks.

The city of Key West wants to do away with almost all funding for nonprofits for the next fiscal year. The cuts would include a teen job program and the Boys and Girls Club’s summer daycare.
